Flipbook converter
Combine an image sequence into one flipbook sheet, or cut a sheet back into separate frames. Preview the animation, reorder or remove frames, choose how frames fit each cell, and download a PNG or TGA. Your images stay in your browser and are never uploaded.

How the flipbook converter works
A flipbook, also called a sprite sheet or SubUV texture, packs every frame of an animation into one image so a shader can step through the cells over time. Frames are sorted by filename (frame_2 comes before frame_10) and packed left to right, top to bottom, which is the order flipbook and SubUV materials expect. Drag a thumbnail to change the order, remove frames you don’t need, or reverse the whole sequence, and the preview plays the result at the frame rate you choose. Change the columns and the rows adjust to fit every frame, and the other way round. For sprites of different sizes, use the atlas packer instead.
- Load frames with Choose images or drop the files onto the tool; in Flipbook to images, choose or drop one sheet.
- Frames are listed in order. Drag a frame to move it (on touch, press and hold briefly first), or focus it and use Alt+Left or Alt+Right. Use × or Delete to remove one.
- Undo with Ctrl+Z and redo with Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z, or use the Undo and Redo buttons. While you type in a field, these keys act on the field instead. Each mode has its own history.
Each frame is drawn into a cell of the size you set. Stretch fills the cell, Fit keeps the frame’s aspect ratio with transparent bars, and Fill keeps the aspect ratio and crops to the cell. Padding insets every frame inside its cell so neighbouring frames don’t bleed together in lower mips, without changing the sheet size. Transparency is kept, which suits smoke, fire and impact effects. PNG, JPG, WebP and TGA files are supported (TGA is decoded in the page, since browsers can’t open it, and both uncompressed and RLE files work).
Download the sheet as a PNG or as an uncompressed 32-bit TGA with alpha. The size line shows the sheet’s memory uncompressed and as BC7 without mips. Powers of two are the safest choice for older hardware and mip generation, and block compression needs sizes divisible by four. If your browser can’t create a canvas as large as the sheet, the page tells you instead of making a blank file.
To go the other way, load a finished sheet, enter its columns and rows, and download every frame as a numbered PNG in one ZIP. Lower the total frame count if the last row has empty cells. If the sheet doesn’t divide evenly by the grid, the leftover edge pixels are dropped, and the preview lets you check the frames before you download.
